Michigan Democratic Senate Candidate Abdul El-Sayed on His Allegiances

I do see some political content in my feed on X. For example, this extraordinary video posted by Abdul El-Sayed, who seems poised to become the next junior senator from Michigan. You should watch it. It’s so good you might suspect the questioner was a plant, but in fact, he was not. This actually happened. El-Sayed actually handled this heckler this well, on the fly. And he posted it on X, where it’s garnered 9 million views. He posted it on Bluesky too, if you’d prefer that. El-Sayed hands this guy his (red) hat so soundly it’s like something out of an Aaron Sorkin script: “So I think it’s you who needs to understand the Constitution, not me.”

Update: This guy “Tommy” was in fact a plant — a plant from the Republicans. The best way to understand the political re-sorting that Trumpism has created isn’t left/right or conservative/liberal. It’s smart/stupid. There are and always have been stupid people everywhere — on the left, on the right, at the top, at the bottom. But Donald Trump turned the Republican Party into one that celebrates stupidity and ignorance. That this dope Thomas Teepell was a Republican operative whose stunt blew up in his face, Wile E. Coyote style, exemplifies that.
